This webinar is an opportunity for USDA NRCS planning staff to hear from three NRCS cooperators on how the management of their confined livestock system is working.

USDA NRCS provides assistance to private landowners on a variety of confined livestock facilities to address the natural resource concerns. As the conservation practice standards are applied, livestock facilities may be designed and installed that require changes in manure management from the previous livestock operation system. Management changes can be difficult. This webinar is an opportunity for producers to share their experiences.

Topics and questions addressed may include:

  • The pros and cons of participating in NRCS programs
  • Management changes that were required for the new livestock systems
  • Challenges of changing methods and routine in manure management
  • Information transfer from other producers with similar systems
  • The possibility of training opportunities for manure management NRCS could recommend

Join us to hear perspectives from three livestock producers that have worked with NRCS in Vermont, Illinois, and Washington State as they share their experiences in management of their confined livestock system.

This webinar is presented by USDA NRCS Science and Technology.
